Our mini camps immerse children in Kindergarten through 8th grade in hands-on farm adventures with animals, nature, crafts, ziplines, and gardening. Guided by caring mentors, campers build confidence, overcome fears, and learn by doing every step of the way.

Junior Mentors (application and approval process required) are also welcomed and may sign up on our JM signup page! (The sign up link will be provided when a camper achieves Junior Mentor status).

Horsemanship Opportunities
Everyone at mini camp has the opportunity to ride a horse. Our horse riding is great for beginners and experienced riders. The foundation of our riding program is called the CRAFTS of Partnership: Communication, Respect, Acknowledgement, Friendship, Trust & Setting Good Boundaries. For a small fee you can sign up to be a Horse Immersion camper and can spend your First and Second class sessions in horse-related activities for more experienced riders, including a morning horse lesson (see schedules and pricing below).
Please note:
Horse Immersion Camp requires campers to be at least 9 years old, able to independently ride at a trot in a group, and be approved by one of our instructors.
Pony Immersion Camp is designed for younger campers (ages 6+) and beginner or less experienced riders.

Schedule and Dates
Mini camps are offered weekdays whenever CHCCS, Orange County or DPS year-round schools are out (except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years).

Discounts are available for registering for multiple camp days in one registration as follows:
10 Days of Mini Camp - 5% discount to all registrations
20 Days of Mini Camp - 10% discount to all registrations
30 Days of Mini Camp - 15% discount to all registrations

We want every child to have the opportunity to experience all that Sunrise CFC has to offer. We offer need-based scholarships. Please note that the scholarships are for ONE WEEK (not for multiple weeks) of Mini Camp.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should my camper bring to camp?
I'm curious about the Junior Mentor Program. What is that? We love our Junior Mentors! The Junior Mentor Program is an opportunity for campers who excel in or want to take more responsibility in the farm environment. Campers who have learned about the farm and are ready to take the next step forward, while still keeping one hand back for the next generation of campers coming up. If you or your camper is interested in becoming a Junior Mentor please email us at admin@sunrisecfc.com. ​ Already know you want to apply, and turning twelve soon? What if I have to be at work before 8 or after 3:30? We offer early care, with drop off as early as 7:30 a.m., and after care, with pick up as late as 6:00 p.m.
My child is taking a horse lesson or woodshop class. What time should I pick them up? Our extended care lessons vary in time. If your camper needs to stay at the farm between pickup and their lesson start time, or if you can't pick them up directly after, sign them up for aftercare, which ends promptly at 6:00 p.m.
Can I come see the farm before registering? Yes! We are open every Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We can show you around the farm, or you can explore on your own!
Is camp cancelled if it rains? ...No! We hold camp as planned rain or shine. We have plenty of sheltered areas, and camp can be just as fun if it's raining!
Do you stay indoors in cold weather? No! :) Our camp is ALL OUTDOORS. Rain, sun, cold, and snow, we value active lifestyles and choose to embody a close relationship with nature. We value health and wellness and hope to inspire your camper's wellbeing. We request that campers come prepared to be outside during the weather. If necessary, bring gloves, rain gear, waterproof boots, thick socks, and hats when the forecast calls for it. When necessary, we will educate campers on dressing well to manage and prevent injury and illness from the cold.
Does my child need to bring their own helmet for horse riding? We provide helmets, though your camper may bring their own if they prefer. However, it does have to be a horse helmet, it cannot be a bike helmet.
