In the United States until the early 20th century, a "Family Farm" was able to support a community of many large families. By following this model, we are able to provide a resource center for individuals of all ages to work, play, nurture, and learn together, through the experiences of having a connection to a sustainable community, animals, Earth, each other, and themselves. All members of the community will be able to practice individual responsibility, teamwork, partnership, communication, trust, and setting good boundaries, all of which are life skills necessary to navigate the world in which we live today.

The community resource model we are providing for the community is able to offer diverse experiences for everyone of any age. Individuals can explore what a sustainable community can be and find what is inspiring to them. At our community farm, everyone can experience what kind of world we can leave to future generations.

At Sunrise Community Farm Center, our vision is to create a sustainable model of a community farm that is inclusive of all ages. Ideally, everyone is able to discover their contribution as part of a community. Everyone in the community feels appreciated, and they see the value of being a part of something bigger than themselves that is real and relevant to the world we live in today.
